Es bahnte sich schon an, dass eines Tages neue Tore aufgestoßen werden zu bisher nur marginal künstlerisch ausgestalteten Ebenen. Urbanität und, darin impliziert, die Monotonie und Uniformität des Alltags; das Individuum im Strom der dummen Masse. Wie jedoch ist dies musikalisch umzusetzen? Erzürnt und aggressiv, chaotisch und hypnotisch, oder doch bestechend schwermütig und eine gewisse Sänfte umklammernd?
Zumindest Amesoeurs beschreiten letztere Wege, und doch wäre es unredlich, diese Typisierung kommentarlos zutreffen zu lassen. Denn ohne Frage erschleichen die Kompositionen des Hörers Emotionsgewand in Form einer sensiblen Symbiose von bedrückendem, aufzehrendem Black Metal und sterilen, kalten Rockelementen, welche deutlich die Stigmata von The Cure und Joy Division tragen; äußerst subtil weiß jene Verschmelzung mit dem Terminus der Negativität umzugehen.
Interessant ist vor allem jedoch nicht die eigentliche Tatsache des Aneinanderknüpfens der erwähnten Musik-Module, sondern das Funktionieren jener im Kontext der urbanen Depressivität. Verzweiflung, Enttäuschung und die vehemente Widerlichkeit der Existenz kommen musikalisch als auch visuell anhand bildimmanenter Kühle zur Geltung und sind Zeichen bemerkenswerter, doch spezifischer Authentizität. In Stücken wie „Faiblesse Des Sense“ wiederum, welches sich gänzlich über seinen rockigen Charakter definieren lässt, entblößt sich eine eigenartige Milde und generiert gar den Ansatz scheinbarer Freude, die allerdings nachdrücklich und doch so sanft verwelkt unter Einfluss der alles Positive in Abrede stellenden, klaren Stimme von Audrey Sylvain.
Als gleichermaßen feinfühlige Krönung ist jedes der Stücke von zuweilen warmen Akustiktönen durchwirkt, die das melodiöse Moment garantieren und die Elemente des Black Metal als rohen und primitiven Leitfaden nutzen. Trotz der kurzen Spielzeit, welche in einem solch konzentrierten Konzept gar einen Minuspunkt rechtfertigt, beweist „Ruines Humaines“ also viel kalte und analytische Substanz im Sinne eines von tiefem Grau umspannten, ausschnitthaften Abbildes der Gesellschaft.

It was obvious that some day there will be new gates being burped up to lead one to levels which in an artistic way were embellished only marginally. Urbanity and, implicated therein, the monotony and uniformity of everyday life; the individual amidst the stream of the ignorant mass. How that can be transferred musically though? Angry and aggressive, chaotic and hypnotic, or even impressively lugubrious and clasping a certain kind of softness?
At least Amesoeurs took the latter path, and still it would be dishonest to let that typification apply without a single comment. Since, without question, the compositions get close to the emotional garb of the listener in form of a sensitive symbiosis of burdensome, sapping Black Metal and sterile, cold Rock-elements, which clearly bear the spiracles of The Cure and Joy Division; absolutely subtly yon merging has the resources to handle the terminus of negativity.
However, not the actual fact of the entanglement of those two music modules is especially interesting, but the functioning of yon in the context of urban depressiveness. Desperation, disappointment and the vehement repulsiveness of existence show to advantage both musically and visually by hand of image-immanent chill - and are signs of worth-mentioning, but specific authenticity. In turn, in pieces like “Faibless Des Sense”, which can be fully defined by its rocking character, a weird mellowness exposes and even generates the appendage of seeming joy, which, however, withers empathically and still so softly under the influence of the all positive things denying, clear voice of Audrey Sylvain.
As equally delicate crowning every song is coined by sometimes warm acoustic tones, which guarantee the melodic aspect and use the elements of Black Metal as raw and primitive guideline. So, despite the short playing time, which in such a concentrated concept even legitimates a demerit mark, “Ruines Humaines” shows a lot of cold and analytical substance in the sense of a fragmentary picture of society enveloped by deepest grey.
